Photon.Net is an authorized domain name provider. If you already registered a domain somewhere else, you can transfer the domain registration to Photon.Net and take advantage of our great low prices.
Transfers
do not affect your web hosting/e-mail services -- your domain hosting service will remain exactly the same and will not experience any interruptions. This is a
domain registration change only -- you are simply changing which company you are paying for the annual domain name fees.
How It Works:
First you place a transfer order through our web site.
Next, after your transfer request is reviewed by Photon.Net, you will receive an automated e-mail message asking you to confirm the transfer request.
Then, within several days, you will probably receive a confirmation message from your
current domain registrar asking you to confirm or deny the transfer. If you confirm the transfer, your domain name transfer will be completed within several days.
Important Notes:
For a transfer to be successful, the following conditions must exist:
1. The current administrative contact's e-mail address must be valid, to allow for the confirmation of the transfer request.
2. Domain cannot be in Locked or Hold status.
*
3. Domain must have resided with your current Registrar or Reseller for more than 60 days since it was first registered there.
4. Domain must have resided with your current Registrar or Reseller for more than 60 days since it was last transferred.
5. Domain names that are expired but not deleted (up to 40 days past the expiry date, for most TLDs) can sometimes be transferred. However, it is always best to transfer a domain at least a couple of weeks before expiration just to insure it gets processed in time.
* More detail on domain locking: Your domain name cannot be "locked" or on "hold" by your current registrar, otherwise the transfer request will be denied. If your domain is currently locked, it can generally be unlocked via the control panel provided by your current registrar. If the unlock feature is not available through their control panel or they don't have a control panel, contact their customer support and ask them to unlock the domain.
